NRC CoSpace Coding Challenge (Autonomous Driving Category)

5. Characteristics (Primary and Secondary Levels)
The challenge is focused on the theme of Smart Transportation and requires participants to program a virtual robot to complete several individual tasks which are commonly used in smart transportation, such as line tracing, obstacle avoidance, and colour detection using RGB sensors.
The NRC CoSpace Coding Challenge is open to students who have no prior experience in robotics or coding is required. Novice participants are welcome.
Training will be provided to all participants to ensure they have the necessary skills to complete the challenge.
No hardware robots are required, making it accessible to a wide range of participants.
Assessment of the participants will be based on the RoboCup Singapore Education Framework, and students who demonstrate the required skills and competencies will be recognized with one of the following three grades: Pass, Merit or Distinction.

6. Characteristics (Tertiary Level)
In NRC CoSpace coding challenge tertiary level, teams need to develop and program a virtual robot car based on the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) to solve the last mile delivery challenge.

7. Moving forward
After the learning journey throughout CoSpace Coding Challenge @ NRC Coding Challenge, students will build up foundations and confidence to participate in the CoSpace Autonomous Driving Challenge at RoboCup Singapore Open 2024
